NEWARK, NJ – On a brisk cool Saturday morning, the Queens College Men's and Women's Cross Country team continued their warm-up for the East Coast Conference Championship as they competed at the NJIT Highlander Technology Challenge.
Both teams took on regional foes throughout the region as they looked to keep their good form going. The women's cross country finished in the top 10 out of DII/DIII teams while also competing against several ECC foes such as NYIT, LIU Post, Saint Thomas Aquinas. The Knights were paced by junior Simone Gmuca who finished 27th with a time of 20:10.00 finishing in the top 50 in the 5K race. Senior Diana Cruz finished 55th with a time of 20:58.00.
On the men's side, senior Clivensky Etienne paced the Knights finishing 17th with a time of 27:00.00, while freshman Noel Guzman finished 51st finishing the 8k race at 28:30.0. The men's side finished top 9 out of DII/DIII teams. The Knights finished second among ECC foes with St. Thomas Aquinas leading the way for the ECC.
