OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's cross country teams concluded their seasons at the East Coast Conference (ECC) Championships hosted by NYIT on Saturday. The women's team finished sixth out of nine teams, while the men's squad was seventh among eight teams.
Sophomore Nakeema Neunie led the way, cracking the top 30 with a time of 20:58.78 for 29th place among 79 finishers on the women's side. Freshman Crystal Jia ran the 5K course in 21:14.10 to finish 33rd, while senior Diana Cruz was right behind in 34th with a time of 21:19.55 in her final race. Junior Alyssa Meltzer ran in 21:40.90 for 41st, while sophomore Angie Calle ran in 24:53.40.
For the fourth consecutive race, senior Luis Campos Castro was the top finisher on the men's team, finishing 47th out of 72 runners over the 8K course with a time of 29:48.48. Sophomore Jayqwan Fowler (29:58.70), senior Jacob Lascano (30:04.07) and Trevon Stith (30:26.61) all finished one after the other, while freshman Dawsen Durant (30:52.26) wasn't far behind.
Roberts Wesleyan College won both the men's and women's team titles, while St. Thomas Aquinas College finished as the runner-up on both sides.
