FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2018) - The Queens College volleyball team was beaten in three sets by Molloy on Wednesday evening (Oct. 10) at Fitzgerald Gymnasium in Flushing. Set scores favored the Lions by a count of 25-15, 25-7 and 25-9.
Lauren Kehoe had a team-high five kills for Queens (1-17, 0-8 ECC) as Briana Green added four kills and Leeks Hollis chipped in with three. Vanessa Juengerkes dished out ten assists and added seven digs while Gina Giacalone put together a strong night on defense with 13 digs in the match.
Molloy (11-5, 6-2 ECC) was led by a 12-kill performance from Carly Banks with Maggie Lavelle among three players that scored five kills in the Lions' win. Sophia Smith posted a match-best 30 assists for Molloy in the victory.
Queens will play the second game of a back-to-back week on Thursday (Oct. 11) as the Knights welcome in Chestnut Hill for a 7 p.m. non-conference affair at Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
