Queens Volleyball Unveils 2017 Schedule

2017 Queens College Women's Volleyball Schedule

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Queens College head women's volleyball coach Jason Octave unveiled the Knights' 2017 schedule on Thursday. The Knights will embark on a 24-match slate, featuring 10 contests at home and 14 East Coast Conference (ECC) matches.

The Knights will open the new season at home, facing off against Georgian Court at Fitzgerald Gym at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1. The following day, Queens will travel to Philadelphia, Pa., for the Holy Family Tri-Match, taking on East Stroudsburg and host Holy Family. After a nine-day break, the team will return home for a match against Southern Connecticut on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.

Queens will then make another trip to Philadelphia for back-to-back non-conference road matches against Jefferson (formerly known as Philadelphia University) and Chestnut Hill on Sept. 15 and 16. The Knights will begin their ECC schedule at home versus NYIT on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. Queens will continue ECC play with a visit to LIU Post on Wednesday, Sept. 20, before hosting Molloy one week later on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m.

Following a road match at Mercy on Tuesday, Oct. 3, the Knights will welcome Bridgeport for a 7 p.m. home match on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Queens will then hit the road for five contests, beginning with a matchup at Southern New Hampshire on Friday, Oct. 6. The next day, the squad will partake in the Saint Anselm Tri-Match, taking on Merrimack and Saint Anselm. Queens will wrap up the road stretch with ECC matches at Roberts Wesleyan (Oct. 13) and Daemen (Oct. 14).

The Knights will have their Dig Pink match at home against LIU Post on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. After visiting NYIT on Oct. 18, Queens will hold its Alumni Match on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Knights will then return to action with road contests at Molloy (Oct. 25) and Bridgeport (Oct. 31).

Kicking off the month of November, Queens will conclude the regular season with four matches at home. The Knights will welcome Mercy on Wednesday, Nov. 1, and then will host Pace on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Queens will host "Take a Kid to the Game" against Daemen on Saturday, Nov. 11, before wrapping up its regular season schedule with Senior Day versus Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday, Nov. 12.

The ECC Championship will begin on Nov. 17 with semifinal matches, while the finals will take place on Nov. 18.
