Volleyball Drops Five-Set Thriller to Holy Family, Downs Felician in Three; Pavlovic Ties NCAA Single-Match Season-High in Kills
The Queens College volleyball team traveled to Rutherford, N.J., Saturday afternoon and came away with a split at its tri-match. Senior middle blocker Jovana Pavlovic tied for a NCAA Division II single-match, season-high with 32 kills in the Knights' five-set loss to Holy Family, before QC turned around and knocked off host Felician in three sets.

Freshman middle blocker Christina Hickey put down 10 kills and a match-high five blocks (one solo) Thursday night at Fitzgerald Gymnasium for the Queens College volleyball team, which dropped a four-set match to visiting and regionally seventh-ranked NYIT, 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 16-25, 25-23).

Volleyball Drops Pair to Dowling, American International
Senior middle blocker Jovana Pavlovic, and junior outside hitter Suzanne Byrne combined for 59 kills and 71 digs Saturday afternoon, as the Queens College volleyball team competed in matches against host Dowling College, and American International College. The Knights fell by a 3-0 count (25-22, 25-15, 26-24) in the opener against the Golden Lions, before dropping a five-set marathon to the Yellow Jackets (22-25, 25-20, 14-25, 25-22, 15-10) in the nightcap.

Pavlovic, Volleyball Turn Back UDC on "Dig Pink" Night, 3-1
Senior middle blocker Jovana Pavlovic hit .417 on 18 kills Friday night at Fitzgerald Gymnasium, as the Queens College volleyball team made it three victories in a row with a 3-1, East Coast Conference triumph over visiting University of the District of Columbia (25-23, 20-25, 25-23, 25-19). Prior to the match, the two teams participated in ceremonies to honor the ECC's "Dig Pink" week - which raised breast cancer awareness, while the fans in attendance made generous donations to the Side-Out Foundation.

The Knights fell by identical 3-1 scores against Stonehill, and the host Falcons.

Fifth-Set Rally Sends Taylor, Volleyball to Season-Opening, 3-2 Win Over UMass Lowell
The Queens College volleyball team made first-year head coach Leanna Taylor a winner in her collegiate debut on the bench Friday night at Fitzgerald Gymnasium, as the homestanding Knights came back from 9-5 down in the fifth and deciding set to a 3-2 triumph over UMass Lowell, in the season opener for both teams. Scores by set were 16-25, 25-16, 16-25, 25-13 and 15-13.

Volleyball Releases 2011 Schedule; Begin Taylor's Inaugural Campaign Sept. 2 at Home
Queens College first-year head volleyball coach Leanna Taylor announced the Knights’ 2011 schedule recently. QC will open the campaign with a Sept. 2 (Fri.) home contest against UMass-Lowell – the first of 10 matches slated to be played at Fitzgerald Gymnasium on the season. In addition, the Knights will play nine contests against teams that participated in the 2010 NCAA Division II Championships.
