Fast start carries Dantas and QC past Nyack in three sets

Queens College used a fast start and the hitting prowess of Camila Dantas to beat Nyack College in three sets in a non-conference match played on Thursday night in Fitzgerald Gymnasium. Dantas had a game high 20 kills to lead QC to their sixth victory of the season.

Dantas had three kills as the Knights roared out to an early 8-0 lead on their way to a 25-10 win in set one. The story was much the same in set two with QC streaking to a 12-4 lead en route to a 25-13 victory.

Set three was a different story. Behind 24-23, the Knights got a kill from Suzanne Byrne (10 kills) to tie, another from Latoya Edward (9 kills, 9 digs) to take the lead and a third from Byrne to seal the win.

Janice Loo dished out 39 assists for the Knights, good for her third highest single match total of the year.
