WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Aug. 20, 2018) - Bolstered by an ECC regular-season crown and an NCAA Round of 16 berth one season ago, the Queens College women's tennis team opens the 2018-19 campaign as the team to beat and the No. 1-ranked squad in the East Coast Conference rankings.
Queens earned five of eight first places votes and 61 points to claim the top spot in the leagueʹs preseason ranking. The Knights outlook for 2018‐19 is bright with only one departure from last yearʹs roster that finished as ECC Regular Season Champions and as the runner‐up in the ECC Championship for the sixth straight year a season ago. Queens also made their 17th straight NCAA Tournament appearance and advanced to the Round of 16 for the sixth time in the past eight years.
The Knights open competition in the 2018 fall season---and East Coast Conference play at that---with a Saturday contest on Sept. 8 versus District of Columbia at 12 p.m. in Flushing.
