ECC weekly awards to three

It was announced on Monday that Erika Goldsmith (Tennis), Andrea Slavin (Soccer) and Daniel Stoker (Soccer) were all named East Coast Conference weekly award winners. Goldsmith was Player of the Week, Slavin was Offensive Player of the Week and Stoker was Rookie of the Week in their respective sports.

Goldsmith was dominate once again in capturing her fifth ECC weekly award, previously having won the Rookie of the Week award four times. Erika helped QC to a 2-0 mark for the week by posting two wins at the number one doubles spot and wins at second and third singles. In singles action, she defeated Dowling's Diane Kobasiuk 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 3 position and Molloy's Madeline Jurlano 6-2, 6-1 in No. 2 spot.  Goldsmith partnered with Somadi Druker in No. 1 doubles to top Dowling 8-3 and Molloy 8-1. 

Goal scoring machine Andrea Slavin made it six in her last three games with three goals in two wins this past week. Slavin dented the twine twice in a 6-1 victory at home over Felician College on Thursday and added another marker in a 5-1 win at Concordia on Saturday. Andrea is currently tied for the conference lead in goals with 11.

Stoker had a hand in both goals in the Knights 2-0 win over Nyack on Wednesday in Flushing. Danny opened the scoring with a goal in the 26th minute and later assisted on an insurance goal in the 84th minute of the Knights' seventh win in their last eight games. Stoker, who is tied for the team lead in goals with Adam Maliniak (5), has now won the Rookie award twice in three weeks.
