Stonehill College dfeated Queens College, 5-4, in the finals of the NCAA Division II Women's Teniis East Regionals on Friday in Easton, Massachussets.

Lindsay Simmons of Stonehill clinched the victory with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4) win over QC's Kirby Reiss at sixth singles. Trailing 5-4 in the third set, Simmons fought back to force the tie-breaker.With the tiebreaker knotted at four, Simmons won the final three points from Kirby Reiss to clinch Stonehill's first trip to the round of 16.

Stonehill's first four points came at wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles while also at No. 5 and 3 singles. Queens won at No. 2 doubles and followed it up with singles victories at one, two and four.
