Diver Derina Wilson one of eight Lady Knights to earn all-conference honors

Junior diver Derina Wilson led a list of eight Lady Knights that earned all-conference honors at the 2008 Metropolitan Swimming Championships, held this past weekend at Rutgers University. As a team, Queens College finished 12th out of 19.
Wilson, a native of Islip, New York, earned all-conference honors by finishing 8th in one meter diving. Monalisa Ribeiro and Carole Parent earned individual Honorable Mention all-conference accolades as Ribeiro placed 16th in the 100 breastroke and Parent was 14th in one meter diving.
Ribeiro, along with Rory Church, Rachel Walter, Brittany Schuler, Carla Cruz and Val Varpakhovic also were named Honorable Mention all-conference as the Lady Knights finished 13th in the 200 Freestyle relay, 10th in the 800 Free relay, 11th in the 400 Medley relay, 9th in the 400 Freestyle relay and 13th in the 200 Medley relay.
