Knights beaten by top seeded Bridgeport in ECC Women's Soccer Semi's

Fourth seeded Queens College was beaten by the University of Bridgeport, 2-0, in the 2009 East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Semifinals on Friday in Connecticut.
The Knights battled top-seeded Bridgeport to a scoreless first half, with Andrea Slavin forcing UB goalkeeper Emelie Karstrom to make three saves over the first 45 minutes.
Katie Stanley of UB broke that tie, taking a pass to the right side of the box from Leah Gallie and beating Allison Breakey with a shot into the left corner of the cage at 58:28. Danielle Weir scored an insurance goal seven minutes and nine seconds later and UB held QC off the board for the final 24:23 to pick up the victory and advance to the conference championships on Sunday at NYIT.
Led by top goal scorers Andrea Slavin (15) and Brittany Silipo (14), junior midfielder Laura D'Amore, senior defender Jenna Peveraro, and outstanding goalkeeper Allison Breakey, the Knights closed out a successful 2009 campaign with a record of 12-5-1.
