Post-season up next after QC blanks Mercy

The 2009 ECC Playoffs are up next for the Knights after they beat Mercy College, 9-0, on Sunday in Flushing. Queens College travels up to Connecticut on Friday to face the University of Bridgeport at 3:00 pm in the semifinals.

QC finished in a three way tie for second with C.W. Post and Dowling College but was placed fourth on the basis of goals surrendered in conference play (CWP: 3, Dowling: 7, QC: 8).

Sarah Boucher opened the scoring for the Knights this afternoon just 57 seconds in when she headed home a feed from Chenelle Geoffroy for her fifth goal of the season. QC went on to score five more times in the first half, including the first of their collegiate careers by Melissa Cordoba and Brittany Wooster.

In the second half Andrea Slavin scored her second of the game, Brittany Silipo completed her hat trick and Katherine Colon added her fourth of the year to make it a 9-0 final.
