Five second half goals lift QC past Concordia

Queens College broke a scoreless deadlock with five second half goals in a 5-1 win over Concordia College on Saturday in Bronxville, New York. The win was QC's fourth straight and their fifth in six games.
Sara Boucher, who started the game at sweeper, produced immediate results when she was moved to midfield in the second half. Boucher first used her head to get the Knights on the board at the 48:24 mark. Melissa Cuartas then followed with an unassisted marker to give QC a 2-0 advantage. The goals, which came just a minute and five seconds apart, were followed by another Boucher goal - this time off of a left footed volley - to put QC up by three That goal gave the freshman from Oceanside High School three in her last two games.
Dena Zornberg made it 4-0 for QC in the 69th minute before Kareena Seaton headed in a free kick to get Concordia on the board with just under five minutes remaining in the contest. The marker by Zornberg was her first of 2009. Andrea Slavin restored QC's four goal lead and closed out the scoring for the day with her team leading 11th of the season and sixth in the last three games.
With the win the Knights, who have now scored 17 goals in their last three times out, improves to 6-3-1.
