Breakey named Goalkeeper of the Year
On Sunday the East Coast Conference announced that it's women's soccer coaches had selected the Knights' Allison Breakey as their 2009 Goalkeeper of the Year. Forward Andrea Slavin, midfielder Laura D'Amore and defender Jenna Peveraro were also named second team all-stars.

Knights beaten by top seeded Bridgeport in ECC Women's Soccer Semi's
Fourth seeded Queens College was beaten by the University of Bridgeport, 2-0, in the 2009 East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Semifinals on Friday in Connecticut.

Defensive Player of the Week award to Boucher
Sarah Boucher was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Boucher helped QC to a 9-0 win over Mercy College on Sunday, the Knights' sixth straight victory and tenth in eleven games.

Post-season up next after QC blanks Mercy
The 2009 ECC Playoffs are up next for the Knights after they beat Mercy College, 9-0, on Sunday in Flushing. Queens College travels up to Connecticut on Friday to face the University of Bridgeport at 3:00 pm in the semifinals.

ECC Soccer awards go to Peveraro and Breakey
Jenna Peveraro and Allison Breakey were selected as this week's East Coast Conference Women's Soccer top defensive player and top rookie. Each were instrumental in leading QC to a 3-0 week and, in the process, the program's first conference playoff berth.

Freshmen shine in Playoff Clinching Senior Day win
Knights' freshmen accounted for four goals in a 5-2 Senior Day win over NYIT on Saturday afternoon. The win clinched QC's first conference playoff spot in the 11 years of the program's existence.

Shutout win at Georgian Court is Knights' eighth in nine games
Katherine Colon, Jenna Peveraro and Andrea Slavin all scored goals in QC's 3-0 win over Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey on Wednesday. The win makes it eight in nine games for Queens College.

Weekly Soccer Rookie awards to Knights' duo
Danny Stoker and Brittany Silipo were named recipients of this week's East Coast Conference Men's and Women's Rookie of the Week awards. Each player scored big goals in important conference wins over Molloy and Dowling.

Knights blank Nyack, 2-0
Queens College continued to roll, shutting out Nyack College, 2-0, for their seventh win in their last eight games. With the non-conference victory the Knights are now 7-0 at home and 9-4-1 overall.

QC hands Dowling first conference loss on Silipo's goal
Brittany Silipo scored the game's lone goal in the 60th minute as Queens College beat Dowling College, 1-0, on Saturday in Flushing, New York, The Knights improved to 3-2 in ECC play while the loss was DC's first in five ECC contests.

Silipo wins it with golden goal
Brittany Silipo scored 6:49 into the first overtime to give Queens College a dramatic 3-2 win over Molloy College in ECC women's soccer action in Flushing. The game featured two penalty kick goals in the second half, the last coming off of the foot of Molloy's Alyssa Faller in the 89th minute to force overtime.

Bridgeport beats QC on golden goal
Erin Svavarsdottir of Bridgeport scored 7:53 into the first overtime to give her team a 2-1 win over Queens College on Wednesday evening in Connecticut. The loss snapped the Knights four game win streak.

ECC weekly awards to three
It was announced on Monday that Erika Goldsmith (Tennis), Andrea Slavin (Soccer) and Daniel Stoker (Soccer) were all named East Coast Conference weekly award winners. Goldsmith was Player of the Week, Slavin was Offensive Player of the Week and Stoker was Rookie of the Week in their respective sports.

Queens College broke a scoreless deadlock with five second half goals in a 5-1 win over Concordia College on Saturday in Bronxville, New York. The win was QC's fourth straight and their fifth in six games.

Brittany Silipo and Andrea Slavin each had a pair of goals as Queens College easily defeated Felician College, 6-1, on Tuesday in Flushing, New York. Sarah Boucher (her first) and Chenelle Geoffroy also scored for QC as the improved to 5-3-1.

Andrea Slavin scored three goals to pace the Lady Knights to a 6-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday afternoon in Flushing, New York. The win evened QC's ECC record at 1-1.

Laura D'Amore and Kirri Bolton each scored second half goals to help the Lady Knights to a 2-0 victory over Wilmington (DE) University on Thursday in Flushing, New York. With the win QC evens their record at 3-3-1.

Kirri Bolton scored the first of her two second half goals in the 50th minute to break a 1-1 deadlock and propel the Lady Knights to a 4-1 non-conference victory over Bloomfiled College on Wednesday in Flushing, New York.

The contributions of three Lady Knights were recognized by the East Coast Conference in their weekly awards announcements. Somati Druker was chosen Women's tennis Player of the Week while Erika Goldsmith and Brittany Silipo were named Women's Tennis and Women's Soccer Rookies of the Week, respectively.

Lindsay Fisher scored on a penalty kick in the 80th minute to break a 3-3 tie and give Holy Family a 4-3 win over Queens College on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia. Brittany Silipo, Andrea Slavin and Laura D'Amore all scored for QC in a wild first half.

The Lady Knights rallied late but came up a goal short in a 2-1 loss at Bentley University on Wednesday afternoon. Andrea Slavin connected for her third goal of the year in the loss.

Soccer's Breakey earns weekly honor
Allison Breakey of the Lady Knights has been selected as this week's East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week. Breakey posted a 1-0-1 record with a 1.35 goals against average in the DoubleTree Kick Off Classic in her collegiate debut this past weekend.

Lady Knights' Freshmen shine against Merrimack in 2-2 tie
Three Lady Knights freshman made impressive collegiate debuts to help QC battle Merrimack to a 2-2 tie in Colchester, Vermont on Friday. Brittany Silipo scored one goal and assisted on the other, while Allison Breakey backstopped the effort in net and Sarah Boucher played a strong defensive game in the stalemate at the DoubleTree Kick Off Classic.

Andrea Slavin named 3rd team all-Region
Sophomore forward Andrea Slavin was named to the 2008 NSCAA/Adidas NCAA Division II Women All-East Region third team. This follows her selection as a third team all-East Coast Conference all-star.

Four Soccer Players named ECC all-stars
Two Knights and two Lady Knights were named all-East Coast Conference for the 2008 season. Noorullah Mashriqi and Terrence Ahoua were tabbed on the men's side while Andrea Slavin and Jenna Peveraro were picked for the women's team.
