Women's Lacrosse Sputters in 19-1 ECC Loss to No. 7/10 Mercy Wednesday

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 28, 2018) - The Queens College women's lacrosse team ran up against a difficult foe on Wednesday (Mar. 28), falling to No. 7/10 Mercy by a 19-1 final score in Dobbs Ferry.

Sarah Koehler scored the lone goal for the Knights (4-3, 0-2 ECC) with three minutes remaining in the first half following Jessica Serpe causing a Mercy (7-1, 1-0 ECC) turnover. At the time, Koehler's goal brought Queens within a 14-1 deficit at the hands of the Mavericks. The seventh-ranked Mavs scored all five goals in the second half as QC had difficulty keeping up with the high-octane offense of the opposition.

Hunter Isnardi and Grace Davidson both scored four goals in the win for Mercy with three goals and a helper coming from Katherine Sanchez and a six-point (1 G, 5 A) performance from Emily Jehle also helping the Mavericks.

Serpe led the Knights with six saves and four ground balls while Patriece Ausili won two draw controls on the day. Melissa Fumano added a draw control win and three caused turnovers for Queens.

QC will head to Philadelphia on Saturday (Mar. 31) to take on Jefferson University at 12 p.m.
