Serpe Named ECC Defensive Player of Week; Ausili on Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Mar. 19, 2018) - Freshman goalie Jessica Serpe of the Queens College women's lacrosse team was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday (Mar. 19). Teammate Patriece Ausili earned a spot on the conference's Weekly Honor Roll, as well.

Serpe had another excellent week in cage for the Knights, picking up two more wins. The freshman made eight saves in a 17-6 win versus Nyack on Mar. 15 and then had 10 saves and yielded just three goals in the second half of the Knights' 18-9 romp over Wilmington. Serpe ranks second in save percentage (52.7), third in saves (49) and goals-against average (8.80) and fourth in goals allowed (44) in the current ECC stats.

Ausili scored her 100th career point when she tallied her fourth goal of the game in a 17-6 win over Nyack College on Mar. 15. She then added five goals and an assist in an 18-9 victory against Wilmington on Mar. 17 to cap off the two-win week. Ausili's ten-point week also included seven ground ball picks and seven draw control wins along with nine caused turnovers.

The Knights are 4-1 and will host Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday (Mar. 24) in QC's East Coast Conference opener at 1 p.m.
