The Knights' Sarah Boucher has been selected as the 2010 East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year in a poll of the league's eight head coaches. Queens College Women's Lacrosse also has two representatives on the all- ECC teams as Heather Rosen and Boucher were both named second team all-stars.
Knights midfielder Heather Rosen scored four goals to increase her team leading total to 44 in the Knights 23-8 loss at Molloy College. Rosen began the day fourth in the ECC in goals scored per game average.
Heather Rosen led the Knights offense with seven goals in a 16-14 win over STAC on Saturday in QC's final home game of the 2010 season. STAC came within a crease violation of knotting the score at 15 but QC hung on for their first ECC win of the year.
Sarah Boucher scored twice in the Knights loss to unbeaten and second ranked C.W. Post in Flushing on Wednesday. Heather Rosen also had a goal for QC, who will face St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday in their last home game of the 2010 season.
Freshman midfielder Heather Rosen has been selected as the recipient of the East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week award for games played between March 29th and April 4th. Rosen is the second Knight to be honored by the ECC this season.
QC scored a season high 20 goals but lost, 25-20, to Lake Erie College in an ECC Women's Lacrosse game played on Saturday afternoon in Perry, Ohio. Heather Rosen and Nicole Foy led the Knights with eight and five goals, respectively.
Sarah Boucher has been tabbed as East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her on field performances over the last seven days. The freshman midfielder scored 11 goals and added three assists in a 1-2 week for the Knights.
The Queens College Women's Lacrosse Team's first ever home game was also their first ever win. Heather Rosen scored eight goals and Kayleen Kelty added four more to power the Knights to an 18-16 victory over Dominican College, the first win in the program's history.
Heather Rosen scored five times but Wilmington held off the Knights, 15-10, in Delaware in the first women's lacrosse game in Queens College history. Melissa Montreuil added three goals and Sarah Boucher had two more for QC.
The schedule for the inaugural season of Queens College Women's Lacrosse was released today. The schedule is comprised of 13 games - seven on the road and six on the Knights' campus in Flushing, New York.
