WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Jan. 7, 2019) - Junior guard Beth Bonin of the Queens College women's basketball team kicked off the new year with a career-high in points and the first East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the 2019 calendar year. The award was bestowed upon Bonin Monday (Jan. 7) by the conference office.
Bonin showed off her scoring ability late in the Knights' 92-76 defeat at Southern New Hampshire on Sunday (Jan. 6). The junior guard poured in a career-high 34 points against the Penmen---with 21 of those points coming in the fourth quarter of the contest. Bonin shot 52% (11-21) from the floor and hit six three-pointers while pulling down three rebounds. She also contributed four assists and four steals in her 39 minutes of playing time.
The junior---an All-Met Second Team award-winner last year---will lead Queens into an ECC bout with Roberts Wesleyan on Friday (Jan. 11) in Rochester at 6 p.m.
