ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Nov. 11, 2018) – The Queens College women's basketball team was unable to capitalize on its season-opening victory as the Knights dropped a 90-62 decision to Jefferson on Sunday (Nov. 11) in Rockville Centre at Quealy Gymnasium.

Tougas scored the first points of the game with a jumper in the first twenty seconds of action, but Jefferson went on a 17-0 run through the first seven minutes of the frame; the Rams' Beverly Kum scored the first six points in the run that was stopped on a three-pointer from Beth Bonin with just over three minutes to play in the quarter. Fawcett had the Knights' final five points of the quarter, including a three-pointer with ninety seconds remaining in the period to cut Jefferson's lead to a 17-10 margin. The Rams ended the period ahead by a 22-10 score, but Queens fought back in the second period as five straight points from Fawcett brought the Knights within three points at the six-minute mark of the frame. A 27-24 lead for the Rams was extended to a 43-30 advantage at the halftime break.

The Knights were unable to come out of the break with offense, as an 8-0 run by Jefferson pushed the Rams ahead by a 51-30 margin to open the third quarter. Jefferson continued to press on, with a 33-point third quarter that gave the CACC representatives a 76-44 lead that would eventually be pushed to the final count of 90-62.

The Knights shot just 32% (22-69) from the floor despite hitting 40% (8-20) of their three-point attempts. Jefferson, on the other hand, made nearly half of its field goals (31-63, 49.2%). The Rams were plus-four in the rebounding category and forced 14 QC turnovers while committing only eleven.

Alynna Williams led all scorers with 29 points while Kum (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Jessica Kaminski (15 points, 12 rebounds) collected double-doubles for Jefferson.
