FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 14, 2018) - The 2017-18 season ended with Beth Bonin being named an All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Second-Team honoree as well as an All-East Coast Conference First Team player. In concert with the post-season accolades, the junior guard for the Queens College women's basketball team will begin the 2018-19 season as a Women's Division II Basketball Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention, as well as the publication's choice for East Coast Conference Preseason Player of the Year.
Bonin was included on a short-list of the top-50 players in Division II women's basketball by the nationally recognized bulletin, which is in its 26th season of publishing reports on the state of the game at the Division II level. The junior guard from Cicero was a dominant player last season for the Knights, averaging 16.0 points per game in leading Queens to the No. 5 seed in the East Coast Conference Tournament. She was a one-time ECC Player of the Week last season, as well as a four-time ECC Weekly Honor Roll Selection.
Bonin scored double-digit points in 23 of 27 contests for the Knights last season, including a career-high 27 points against Daemen on Feb. 18. In nearly 1,000 total minutes played, Bonin scored 432 points and hit 64 three-pointers as well.
