Bonin Named ECC Player of the Week Following Career Performances

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Jan. 16, 2018) - Following a week that was as unforgettable as ever for her, sophomore guard Beth Bonin of the QC women's basketball team collected Player of the Week honors Tuesday (Jan. 16) from the East Coast Conference.

Bonin collected a 19.5 points per game average in two games over the week and also accumulated an average of 14.0 rebounds per game for the Knights. She scored 23 points and added a career-high 17 rebounds in an 80-75 overtime loss to Mercy on Wednesday, adding six assists and three steals while playing a full 45 minutes versus the Mavericks. On Saturday (Jan. 13), Bonin scored 16 points and added 11 rebounds and four assists but it was her buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the fourth quarter that brought the Knights to a 62-59 victory.

The sophomore guard was also named one of the Student-Athletes of the Week for Queens College, updated weekly on queensknights.com. The Knights are back in action Friday (Jan. 19) as the team hosts Roberts Wesleyan at Lucille Kyvallos Court at Fitzgerald Gymnasium with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
