WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2017) - Following a breakout performance in the Knights' home-opening victory over Concordia on Saturday, sophomore forward Celeste Moran was named to the East Coast Conference Weekly Honor Roll for women's basketball on Monday.
Moran did not start in QC's 64-48 victory over the Clippers at Lucille Kyvallos Court at Fitzgerald Gymnasium, but the sophomore made her presence felt the moment she stepped into the contest. She scored seven points in the first quarter and had 12 points at the halftime break with the next-closest player after twenty minutes of basketball scoring just seven points in the game. Moran finished the afternoon with a game-high 16 points, sharing that honor with teammate Kaitlyn Mahon, and added 13 rebounds for her first career double-double in collegiate competition. Moran was a force to be reckoned with on the offensive glass, pulling down eight rebounds and helping QC enjoy a plus-21 margin (60-39) rebounding in the entire game.
The Queens College women's basketball team will host Bloomfield College on Wednesday (Nov. 22) at 3:30 p.m. in its lone contest for the week.
