Lady Knights tie for first by beating Bridgeport, 72-63

The Lady Knights improved to 13-2 in the ECC with a 72-63 victory at the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday. The win, coupled with a 86-66 loss by Molloy at Dowling, propels QC into a tie for first place in the conference with three games to go.

The Lady Knights, who held a brief 8-6 lead, found themselves down by eight points at the 16:13 mark when Sidney Parsons hit a three pointer to put UB up 27-19. QC managed to cut their deficit in half, going into the locker room behind 29-25.

The game remained tight until Kara Otterbine's basket with 2:23 left broke a 60-60 tie and kick started an 8-0 Lady Knights' run. Amanda Bartlett added two free throws with 1:35 remaining, Otterbine scored another basket 46 seconds later and Jennifer DiChiara put the icing on the cake with 27 seconds remaining in the contest to give QC an unsurmountable 68-60 advantage.

DiChiara led all scorers with 25 points while adding 18 rebounds and four blocks in an all-around effort. Bartlett also had 17 for QC, who return to Flushing on Saturday for their final home game of the egular season.
