Streak snapped at 12 by Dowling, 74-73

The Lady Knights 12 game winning streak was snapped by Dowling College in Fitzgerald Gym on Wednesday night, 74-73. Jennifer DiChiara led Queens College with 24 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks in a loss that dropped them to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in ECC play.
Dowling led 68-63 with 4:28 to go in the contest but QC rallied to take a 71-70 lead on a DiChiara basket off of an assist from Janine Maser with 1:16 remaining. Christie Marrone converted two from the foul line with 59.5 seconds left to give the back to Dowling.
After a missed jumper by Jennifer Robbins and a turnover by DiChiara, Marrone was fouled by Amanda Bartlett with 18.9 seconds left. Marrone once again made her free throws, giving Dowling a 74-71 lead. DiChiara converted to free throws for QC with 2.4 ticks left on the clock but QC could not get off a last ditch shot after Simona Bartkova of Dowling missed two free throws with 1.6 left on the clock.
Marrone led all scorers with 26 points while teammate Molly Tubridy added 22. Bartlett had 14 points and six assists for the Lady Knights.
