Lady Knights beat Molloy in showdown for first place

The Lady Knights beat Molloy College, 63-54, in a showdown for first place in the East Coast Conference. With the win, QC moves into a tie with Molloy atop the conference with a 7-1 record. Queens College has now won 12 straight games.
Jennifer DiChiara had 11 points and six boards and Christine Harnischfeger scored seven off of the bench to help the Lady Knights build a 32-25 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Kara Otterbine scored four points in a 6-0 run to start the second half which extended the Lady Knights lead to 13. QC twice built 17 point cushions, the last of which came on two free throws from Amanda Bartlett with 10:56 remaining. Molloy clawed back, using a 10-2 spurt, capped by a three ponter by Jenna Mclaughlin with 6:06 left, to pull within seven points at 54-47. However, the Lady Knights held on, scoring their last seven points from the charity stripe.
Bartlett led QC with 21 points - 17 in the seconds half - while Jennifer DiChiara added 15 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks and Harnischfeger chipped in with 12 off of the bench in a winning effort. Kymira Woodberry was Molloy's top scorer with 17. Queens College is now 13-4 overall while Molloy College falls to 13-3.
