Queens College Athletics Department Annual Awards Dinner
The 2008-2009 season culminated with the annual Queens College Athletics Department Awards Dinner at Ricardo's by the Bridge in Astoria on Monday, May 11, 2009. Jennifer DiChiara and Amanda Bartlett of Women's Basketball and Terrence Ahoua of Men's Soccer were the big winners on the night.

DiChiara and Bartlett share MBWA Player of the Year award
Jennifer DiChiara and Amanda Bartlett of Queens College were named All-Met Division II women’s college basketball Co-Players of the Year Thursday by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association. Tom Flahive was also selected Coach of the Year.

Lady Knights title run derailed in Regionals
The Lady Knights most successful season of the last two decades came to a conclusion in Philadelphia on Friday night in the NCAA Regionals. Second seed Holy Family handed seventh seeded Queens College a 74-43 defeat, leaving the Lady Knights with a final record of 24-7.

Lady Knights are Queens of the ECC
Tournament Most Valuable Player Amanda Bartlett poured in 27 points as the Lady Knights captured the East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Championship with a convincing 75-49 victory over Dowling College in Garden City, NY. The title, the first for the Queens College Women's Basketball program since joining the Division II ranks, earns them an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament.

QC advances to ECC title game, Bartlett scores 1,00th point
Top seed Queens College defeated fifth seed C.W. Post College, 71-61, to advance to the East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Championship game. Jennifer DiChiara led the Lady Knights with 26 while sophomore Amanda Bartlett added 18, including the 1,000th point of her collegiate career.

Balanced attack leads Lady Knights to 56-44 Quarterfinal win over STAC
Three players accounted for 40 points for the Lady Knights' in their 56-44 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas College in Flushing in the East Coast Conference Quarterfinals. Jennifer DiChiara, who received her conference Player of the Year Award prior to the game, led QC with 15 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Jennifer DiChiara named ECC Player of the Year
Jennifer DiChiara has been selected as the 2008-09 East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year in a poll of the league's head coaches. She is the first Lady Knight to receive such an honor in the program's 22 year history in Division II. Teammate Amanda Bartlett was also named first team all-ECC for the second consecutive season.

Queens College lost at Dowling College on Saturday afternoon, 66-55, in their regular season finale. Next up for the Lady Knights will be St. Thomas Aquinas College in the ECC Quartefinals on Wednesday evening in Flushing.

Bartlett's 19 leads Lady Knights in Title Clincher
Amanda Bartlett scored 19 points to lead the Lady Knights to a 66-62 victory over second place Molloy College on Wednesday in Rockville Centre, New York. With the win, Queens College clinches the East Coast Conference regular season title, the team's first championship since moving to Division II in 1987.

Jennifer DiChiara earns ECC Player of the Week nod
Jennifer DiChiara wrapped up the week by winning the East Coast Conference Player of the Week award. DiChiara averaged 21 points, 15 rebounds a four blocks a game as the Lady Knights swept their way into first place with wins at Bridgeport and versus NYIT.

20's are wild in Lady Knights 80-46 win over NYIT
Lady Knights' number 20 Amanda Bartlett scored 20 points to lead the Lady Knights to their 20th victory of the season, a 80-46 decision over NYIT on Senior Night in Flushing. The win, combined with a loss this afternoon by Molloy, gives QC sole possession of the top spot in the ECC standings.

Lady Knights tie for first by beating Bridgeport, 72-63
The Lady Knights improved to 13-2 in the ECC with a 72-63 victory at the University of Bridgeport on Wednesday. The win, coupled with a 86-66 loss by Molloy at Dowling, propels QC into a tie for first place in the conference with three games to go.

ECC names Bartlett Player of the Week
The East Coast Conference has selected Lady Knights' guard Amanda Bartlett as its' Player of the Week for games from February 9th through the 15th. The sophomore from Mesa, Arizona averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds a game in helping her team to wins over Mercy College and Concordia College. She also shot 54.5 % from the field, including nine for 17 from three point range.

Bartlett, QC sink Clippers, 84-40
Amanda Bartlett scored 18 to lead the Lady Knights to a 84-40 win over Concordia College on Valentine's day in Flushing, New York. The win, combined with a loss by Dowling College at NYIT, gives Queens College sole possession of second place in the ECC with four games to go in the regular season.

Backcourt carries the Lady Knights past Mercy, 78-66
The Lady Knights backcourt accounted for 57 points in a 78-66 win over Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York on Wednesday. Amanda Bartlett had 29 points and six assists, Christine Harnischfeger had 18 and Janine Maser added 10 to propel QC to their sixteenth win in their last seventeen games.

Double-Doubles from Robbins and Otterbine power QC to big win at STAC
Jennifer Robbins and Kara Otterbine each posted double-doubles in a 72-42 Lady Knights' win at St. Thomas Aquinas College in a Saturday matinee. Otterbine had 14 points and 13 rebounds while Robbins finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds in QC's 15th win in their last 16 games.

The Lady Knights used a balanced attack to get past Adelphi University, 72-58, in Flushing on Wednesday evening. Amanda Bartlett led the way with 23 points while all seven of her teammates that got into the game scored at least four points.

Jennifer DiChiara scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Amanda Bartlett had 20 points and five assists in a 72-69 Lady Knights' win over C.W. Post on Saturday afternoon in Brookville, New York. With the win QC improves to 14-5 overall and 8-2 in conference play.

The Lady Knights 12 game winning streak was snapped by Dowling College in Fitzgerald Gym on Wednesday night, 74-73. Jennifer DiChiara led Queens College with 24 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks in a loss that dropped them to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in ECC play.

Jennifer DiChiara chosen ECC Player of the Week
Lady Knights forward Jennifer DiChiara was chosen East Coast Conference Player of the Week for her part in helping Queens College to a perfect 3-0 record last week. The graduate student from Smithtown, New York averaged 20 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks per game, including three double-doubles.

The Lady Knights beat Molloy College, 63-54, in a showdown for first place in the East Coast Conference. With the win, QC moves into a tie with Molloy atop the conference with a 7-1 record. Queens College has now won 12 straight games.

The Lady Knights won big at New York Tech, 81-57, on Wednesday evening. QC has now won 11 consecutive games. Amanda Bartlett scored 26 points for the second time in three days to lead the Queens College attack.

Jennifer DiChiara and Amanda Bartlett each scored 26 points to lead the Lady Knights to a 83-70 win over ECC rival Mercy College in Flushing on Martin Luther King Day. The win was the tenth straight for QC, who improve to 11-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Queens College made it nine straight wins as they beat Bridgeport, 73-63, on Saturday evening in Flushing. Amanda Bartlett led four Lady Knights in double figures with 25 points.

The Lady Knights outrebounded Concordia College 73-46 as they won their eighth straight, 87-67, in Bronxville, New York on Wednesday. Jennifer DiChiara led the domination with 31 points, 23 rebounds and seven rejections. Three other Lady Knights grabbed rebounds in double figures in the win.

Queens College racked up their seventh consecutive victory by beating the Lady Warriors of Nyack College, 72-63, on Tuesday night in Flushing. With the win in their last non-conference tilt of the season, the Lady Knights improve to 8-4.

Jennifer DiChiara scored 28 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked three shots to lead the Lady Knights to a 82-79 win at the ECAC Holiday Classic against host school Caldwell College. The victory was QC's fifth straight.

Otterbine leads Lady Knights in 65-58 win over Felician College
Kara Otterbine was the Player of the Game as Queens College upended Felician College, 65-58, on Saturday afternoon in the ECAC Holiday Classic hosted by Caldwell College. Otterbine played a big part in the win with 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks, good for her sixth double-double in just nine games this year. The win is the fourth straight for the Lady Knights, who improved to 5-4 on the season.

Jennifer Chiara scored a game high 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots to carry Queens College to a 59-42 victory over Georgian Court on day one of the 44th Annual East Stroudsburg University Tournament. Amanda Bartlett added 14 points in the Lady Knights' second win in three days.

Four Lady Knights scored in double figures to the lead the Lady Knights to a 67-59 victory over C.W. Post College on Wednesday night in Flushing, New York. QC also won the battle of the boards, 54-35, in recording their first conference win of the season.

The Lady Knights traveled down to Wilmington University and returned home from Delaware saddled with a 79-65 loss on Sunday afternoon. The loss was their fourth in four tries away from the friendly confines of Fitzgerad Gymnasium.

Otterbine named ECC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Junior center Kara Otterbine has been named East Coast Conference Player of the Week for her efforts on the court over the last seven days. Otterbine averaged 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a game - a double-double - in helping her team to a 1-1 week.

Three costly turnovers in the final two minutes swung the balance in the favor of Adelphi University in a 80-71 Lady Knights loss on Saturday afternoon in Garden City, New York. Kara Otterbine (22), Jennifer DiChiara (22) and Amanda Bartlett (18) combined to score 62 points for QC in their East Coast Conference opener.

Amanda Bartlett scored a game high 24 points as the Lady Knights got into the win column in their home opener with a 63-52 victory over Post University on Tuesday evening. Kara Otterbine added a double double (13 points, 13 boards) for QC, her second of the season.

St. Michael's College edged the Lady Knights, 80-72, in Colchester, Vermont on Sunday afternoon. Amanda Bartlett had 20 points and seven assists while Janine Maser added 19 as QC dropped to 0-2 for the season.

Kara Otterbine scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in her Queens College debut but fourth ranked Franklin Pierce prevailed, 73-43, at St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. Amanda Bartlett led the Lady Knights with 15 points in their 2008-09 season opener.

All-Region Honors added to Bartlett's Portfolio
Freshman guard Amanda Bartlett has added another honor to her 2007-2008 resume. In a vote taken amoung the region's Sports Information Directors, Bartlett was chosen Daktronics second team all-Region. She is the only player from the East Coast Conference to be chosen for either the first or second teams.

Amanda Bartlett named ECC Rookie of the Year, Tom Flahive chosen Coach of the Year
In what had to be considered a forgone conclusion, Amanda Bartlett has been selected as the 2007-08 East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year. The native of Mesa, Arizona was also the lone Lady Knight to be named all-conference as she was chosen first team all-ECC. Lady Knights head coach Tom Flahive was also selected by his peers as ECC Coach of the Year.
