Amanda Bartlett named ECC Rookie of the Year, Tom Flahive chosen Coach of the Year
In what had to be considered a forgone conclusion, Amanda Bartlett has been selected as the 2007-08 East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year. The native of Mesa, Arizona was also the lone Lady Knight to be named all-conference as she was chosen first team all-ECC. Lady Knights head coach Tom Flahive was also selected by his peers as ECC Coach of the Year.
Bartlett won or shared nine ECC Rookie of the Week awards this past season in leading Queens College to a sixth place finish and a playoff berth. For the week of January 21st through the 27th, Amanda swept the ECC Player, Rookie and ECAC Player of the Week awards. She completed the season averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Flahive, in his fourth season at the helm of the Lady Knights, led his team to a 14-14 record overall and a 12-8 record in ECC play, good for sixth place. He engineered a remarkable turnaround from last season when QC was 6-21.
