WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Apr. 2, 2018) - A star at both the plate and in the pitcher's circle, Queens College senior ToniMarie Valeriano earned her second East Coast Conference Player of the Week laurel on Monday (Apr. 2) in a release from the conference office.
Valeriano completed a stellar week for the Knights to begin conference play as Queens went 4-2 with a doubleheader sweep of Bridgeport and single-game victories against Molloy and Mercy. The senior went 9-for-22 (.409) at the dish with three home runs, including a three-run blast to lift Queens to a 4-0 victory against the Mavericks, and five runs batted in. She also went 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA in the circle. She picked up complete-game wins over Bridgeport and Mercy in the circle, with the latter being a three-hit shutout with eleven strikeouts.
The Queens College softball team returns to action on Wednesday (Apr. 2) as the Knights head to Old Westbury for an ECC doubleheader with NYIT. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
