Breakey’s hit in the bottom of the eighth inning lifted the Knights to a 5-4 triumph in the opener, while Vaccaro broke a 6-all tie in the bottom of the sixth inning, en route to QC defeating the Setters by a 9-6 count in the nightcap.

The Knights (6-6) picked up an 8-0, five-inning victory in the first game behind a two-hit, seven-strikeout performance from Faith Tessmer in the pitching circle, and used a five-run fifth inning to capture a 7-4 triumph in the nightcap.

    The Queens College Women’s Softball team announced their 2011 spring schedule today. The Knights look to improve on last year’s record and make a run deep into post season play. Queens has added five new faces to this year’s roster which includes three freshman and two sophomores.
