The Lady Knights were beaten by Dowling College, 2-1, in the completion of a game started yesterday at NYIT. The loss knocks QC out of the double-elimination East Coast Conference Softball Championship Tournament.

Dowling scored in the top of the first on a Kacie Pinto double that drove home Stephanie Compitello. The rains came after the Lady Knights hit in the bottom of the inning, causing the game to be suspended until Saturday morning.

When play resumed neither team could score until Jessica Rogue hit a solo home run in the top of the ffith to put Dowling up, 2-0. QC got that run back in their half of the fifth when Danielle DiGioia singled home Destiny Ocasio to cut Dowling's lead in half.

Bryttne Nelson pitched well in defeat, throwing a complete game while striking out nine and surrendering just five hits.
