White launches three against Dominican but QC drops two

Freshman Megan White hit three home runs on Saturday morning against Dominican College in Georgian Court University's 2nd Annual "Going to Bat for Breast Cancer" Softball Tournament. The Lady Knights lost that slugfest, 11-10 and fell to Dowling later in the day, 9-1.

White's first home run came in the first inning with one aboard to cap a four run rally. In the third, White followed a two run homer by Sara Koumou with a solo shot to put the Lady Knights up by three, 7-4. Then, with her team trailing 8-7 in the seventh, White connected with two on base for her sixth of the year to give QC a 10-8 lead. The lead was short lived as Dominican rallied for three in the bottom of the inning to pull out a 11-10 win.

Destiny Ocasio had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored in the loss.

QC was beaten by Dowling College, 9-1, in five innings in a non-conference tilt in the Lady Knights' second game of the day. Danielle DiGioia was two for two with a home run that accounted for QC's only run.
