QC rides bats of Miracco and Koumou, arm of Nelson to sweep of Holy Family

Katie Miracco and Sara Koumou provided the thunder and Bryttne Nelson threw a five hitter to power the Lady Knights to a doubleheader sweep of Holy Family on Sunday in Pennsylvania. With the 8-4 and 6-1 wins, Queens College improved to 9-3 on the season.
QC trailed 3-0 after 4 innings before erupting for eight runs in the last three innings of the opener to post a 8-4 victory. Katie Miracco hit a three run home run in the Lady Knights' half of the fifth to tie the game at three apiece and in QC's next turn at bat, Sara Koumou and Destiny Ocasio hit back-to-back round trippers to give their team a two run lead. After Holy Family answered with a run in the sixth to close to within 5-4, Koumou hit her second four bagger of the game, a three run job in the seventh to close out the scoring.
In game two, Miracco's RBI single in the first gave QC the early lead. They added three unearned runs in the second and another run in the third as Nelson cruised to a complete game win. Nelson allowed just five hits and one earned run and struck out two to run her record to 5-1 on the season. After getting two hits in the nightcap, Miracco wrapped up the day four for six with a homer and four RBIs.
