Men's Tennis Scores 7-2 Win over Stonehill on Saturday to Move to 4-0 on Season

FLUSHING, N.Y. (Feb. 17, 2018) - The Queens College men's tennis team won five of six singles matches on Saturday (Feb. 17) to knock off Stonehill by a 7-2 final score at the QC Tennis Center.

Freshman Hugo Evangelista de Andrade continued his impressive weekend of play with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Tom Buckley in fourth singles; Andrade is 2-0 to start off his career after being a late entry in Friday's win over Wagner at the same flight. The Knights were also victorious in all but fifth-singles, with Miguel Bendito dropping a tough 10-6 third set in fifth singles to stumble against the Skyhawks' Aaron Diamond. Cosme Jubera, Lukas Martinez, Jose Zurro and Nick Volos were all straight-set winners for QC in singles play as well, as the Knights used their dominance in one-on-one play to key the squad's fourth straight win.

Martinez and Gabriel Mendez were victors in second-doubles by an 8-3 score over Russell White and Manu Ravichandrakumar while Richard Sec and Camilo Arias took an 8-1 triumph in the No. 3 doubles tandem as well for QC.

The Knights will host Fairleigh Dickinson in a Division I/II crossover match on Monday (Feb. 19) at noon at the QC Tennis Center.
