MOBILE, Ala. – Queens College men's tennis standouts, senior Attila Toth (Budapest, Hungary) and Nikolaj Wulff (Munich, Germany) began play at the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Small College Championships, Thursday afternoon at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
The top-seeded doubles duo in the NCAA Division II bracket, competing in the championships for the first time, succumbed to Nebraska-Kearney's Josh Raymond and Yeswanth Nadella – second-time competitors – by a score of 6-4, 1-6 and then 10-5 in the super tiebreaker, Thursday afternoon.
Toth and Wulff fell in a competitive match to third-seeded Domingos Carissimo and Jorge Margiotta of Southwest Baptist early Friday afternoon, 6-4 and 6-4. The QC duo then regrouped against Austin West and Devon Sousa of California-San Diego in the seventh-place match, winning the contest by scores of 6-3 and 7-6 (7-4 in tiebreaker).
