Or Gil graduated from St. Francis College of Brooklyn with a B.A. in Physical Education. He has had more than 15 years of experience in swimming and water polo.
His career began with the Kibbutz Givat Hayim Swimming and Water Polo Club in Israel. From there Or moved on to the Israeli Junior and Senior national teams, playing in the Eurpoean Championship Qualifications in 2000-2001.
While attending St. Francis, Or was a member for four years (2005-2009) of their NCAA Division I Water Polo and Swimming teams and competed in the NCAA Division I Final Four in 2005. He was also named team captian of the swim team for the 2008-09 season, leading his team to a second place finish at the Northeast Conference championships.
Or has received recognition from the NY Daily News and WABC News
and was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee at St.
Francis. His honors include the 2007-2008 MVP award for swimming,
Northeast Conference Fall of 2008 Academic Honor Roll, the Good
Citizenship Award and the Israeli President's Award
