Men’s 800 Freestyle Relay Team Makes History as Swimming and Diving Concludes NYU Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Queens College men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up the final day of the NYU Invitational on Saturday, which was held at the Palladium Athletic Facility in Manhattan.

The men's 800-yard freestyle relay team led the way for the Knights, setting a new school record in the event. Freshman Joseph Mo, junior Louis Alers, senior Mateusz Stypulkowski and junior Jordan Melidor-Fuxis set the mark with a time of 7:18.74, taking first place along the way. The quartet also posted a second place showing in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:39.50.

Sophomore Jennifer Arana-Perez led the way for the women's team with a fourth place finish among 15 competitors in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:01.17. Junior Katie Waskiewicz also finished eighth in the event with a mark of 1:04.42.

Next up for the Knights will be the Metropolitan Conference Championships held at Rutgers University on Feb. 17-19.
