As a sophomore in 2009-10, Luke established new school records in the 500 free, the 200 free and 400 relays. At the Metropolitan Swimming Championships he finished in the top eight in the 200 IM, 200 free, 200 free relay and 200 medley relay. Luke also placed in the top 16 in the 100 breastroke and 400 medley relay and won the team Most Valauble Player and Shinning Star awards.

Luke was chosen as the team's top freshman for 2008-2009 after setting records in the 200 IM and the 200 medley relay. He also placed in the top 8 at the Metropolitan Swimming Championships in the 200 free relay and in the top 16 in the 200 IM, 200 free, 100 free and the 200 medley relay.

In high school, Luke was all-District and team MVP in 2007 and 2008 while also earning all-Region honors in 2007.
