KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 30, 2018) – Heading into Wednesday's (Oct. 31) East Coast Conference semi-final bout with the second-seed LIU Post Pioneers, the Queens College men's soccer team continued its upward climb in the rankings of the East Region's best squads of the season. The ledger, posted Tuesday (Oct. 30) by United Soccer Coaches, lifted the Knights to No. 7 in the East Region after the team was ranked tenth last week.
Queens was the benefactor not only of a 2-0 week, but also a major shake-up in the polls as chaotic results around the Knights brought the team upwards in the rankings. The Knights' 4-1 and 1-0 victories over Molloy and Dominican, respectively, meant that the squad finished the regular season on a seven-match unbeaten streak (6-0-1) through the month of October and awarded QC the No. 3 seed in the ECC Tournament.
ECC regular-season champion Mercy College was slotted No.1 in the rankings this week after Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire tumbled in the rankings thanks to end-of-season losses in Northeast-10 play. The Panthers were the top team in the region last week, while the Penmen were ranked third; Adelphi is now No. 4 and SNHU is No. 6.
