WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2017) - Following a steady-shooting week from beyond the three-point line, freshman Tyrese Crosdale of the QC men's basketball team captured the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honor on Monday.
Crosdale came off the bench on Wednesday (Nov. 15) and put up a 15-point performance in 26 minutes in the Knights' 86-74 loss to New Haven. The rookie shot 50% (5-10) from the field and hit three shots from long range while pulling down three rebounds and adding a block. The native of the Bronx earned his first career start on Saturday (Nov. 18) versus Concordia and scored 12 points on four three-point shots. Crosdale added to his scoring capabilities with six assists and did not commit a turnover in the contest, which ended with Queens falling by a 100-91 score. Crosdale is currently shooting 45.5% from behind the arc, hitting 10 three-balls in 22 attempts over his first three collegiate games.
Crosdale and the Knights will host Felician University on Wednesday (Nov. 22) in a pre-Thanksgiving showcase at Fitzgerald Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
