Knights ride big second half to a 78-68 win over Shippensburg

The Knights scored 48 points in the second half in downing Shippensburg, 78-68, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Khaleef Allicott led all scorers with 19 points to help QC improve to 2-4 and in the process hand Shippensburg their first loss of the season.
Nana Boateng's bucket with six seconds left in the first half sent the Knights to the locker room with a 30-28 lead. Allicott and Mike Liander each had 8 while Lawrence Young added 7 for QC in a first half that featured seven ties.
Boateng had a three point play in an 8-0 run ended by a Liander basket that broke open a close game and gave QC a 52-41 edge with 9:17 gone by. The cushoin grew to 15 with 4:32 left on a three pointer by Allicott but Shippensburg responded with a 13-4 run of their own to cut the Knights' lead to 70-64 with 1:30 remaining in the game but that's as close as Shippensburg would get.
Liander (15 points, 10 rebounds), who was named to the all-tournament team, and Edil Lacayo (13) also scored in double figures for Queens College, who return to action tomorrow afternoon in a conference showdown with Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.
