Wierzbicki makes professional basketball debut

Former Knights guard Bradd Wierzbicki made his professional basketball debut on Friday for the Leicester Riders of the British Basketball League (BBL). Bradd scored four points in his first game and one point on Saturday in his home debut as the Riders defeated the Guildford Heat, 82-75, in Leicester, England.
Obviously just getting acclimated to playing overseas, Bradd followed up his slow start by pouring in 25 in a 101-86 loss at Everton and 20 in a 104-87 win over Cheshire.
The 6'3" guard joins the Riders after an impressive collegiate career at Queens College. Bradd finished his career in 2007 with 1686 points, good for fourth place on the Knights all-time scoring list. After his last season, he was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year for the second straight season, the first time in the school's history a Knight player had won the award twice in a row. Bradd finished fourth in Division II in scoring with 24.6 points per game in his junior season, following that up with 23.4 points per game in his senior year.
"He's a guy that I have known about for a while now," said Riders Coach Rob Paternostro. "I feel like he is a young, up and coming player who has the qualities that I look for in a player. I think he has a chance to be a really good player. It'll be tough at first for him to get up to speed, but I like what he brings to the team so he should be a good addition."
