Freshman guard Edil Lacayo has been named Rookie of the Week by the East Coast Conference for his performances over the last seven days. Lacayo averaged 11.5 points in helping the Knights to a 1-1 week.

Edil had 11 points and 2 assists in a last second loss to Adelphi and followed that up with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in QC's triple-overtime win against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday.

Lacayo ha now won this award three times during the 2008-2009 season.
