Allicott's free throws in third OT give Knights an 80-78 win

Khaleef Allicott converted two free throws with 17 second left in the third overtime to give Queens College an 80-78 win on the road over St. Thomas Aquinas College. Allicott scored 28 points on the day to lead all scorers.

The Knights led 62-55 with exactly one minute to go in regulation but STAC battled back, tying the game with one second remaining on a basket by Akeem Comas. It was QC's turn to rally in the first overtime, erasing a four point deficit on baskets by Lamont Lans and Allicott to knot the game at 72 and send it to another extra session.

Only four points were scored in the second overtime with Allicott putting QC ahead 74-72 with two free throws with 0:54 remaining and Ahmed Allen tying the game for the 15th time with 27 second left.

The third OT produced the 16th and 17th ties of the day before Allicott gave the Knights the lead for good with 17 seconds left.

Lans finished with 14, Edil Lacayo had 12 and Mike Liander added 11 points and nine boards for the Knights. The win enables QC to improve to 5-16 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
