Michael Sporton enters his fourth academic year as an employee of Queens College. The former Knights baseball standout has been a fixture in the department since his days as an undergraduate in Flushing, assisting with facilities, sports information and the department’s summer camp throughout the process.
Sporton was a four-year letterwinner as a corner infielder for Queens – leading the team in batting average his final two campaigns and in virtually every offensive category as a senior. The Archbishop Molloy High School product helped his squad to three city championship finals appearances, including a CHSAA title in 2002. Sporton graduated from Queens College with a bachelor’s degree in history in 2008, and holds a 1.0 U.S. Golf Association handicap on the golf course. The avid New York Yankees fan resides in his native Flushing.
