Queens College Athletics Department Annual Awards Dinner

The 2008-2009 season culminated with the annual Queens College Athletics Department Awards Dinner at Ricardo's by the Bridge in Astoria on Monday, May 11, 2009. Jennifer DiChiara and Amanda Bartlett of Women's Basketball and Terrence Ahoua of Men's Soccer were the big winners on the night. 

The evening ended with the naming of DiChiara, Bartlett and Ahoua as the recipients of the Silver Knights Award, which is bestowed upon the top performers of the year. DiChiara and Bartlettt were instrumental in leading the Lady Knights to a 24-7 record, as well as a number of firsts- their first conference regular season and tournament championships and their first NCAA DiVision II bid. DiChiara was named East Coast Conference Player of the Year and shared the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Asscociation Player of the Year award with Bartlett, who led the conference in scoring while notching her 1,000th career point in her sohpomore season in the process.

Ahoua helped the men's soccer team to a third place finish in the ECC standings in only their second year as a varsity team. He was named a third team conference all-star for the second consecutive season on defense as well.
