(718) 997-2752

Jamie Quinn joined the Knights coaching staff for the 2007-08 season after a successful four year playing career as a catcher / first baseman with stops at SUNY Old Westbury and Queens College. He also played in the Independent Rookie New York State League, the Fronteir League and the Atlantic League.

Coach Quinn will work closely with the catchers and first baseman, while assisting in field maintenance.

After earning an all-conference nod as a catcher in his senior year at Plainedge High School, Quinn moved on to SUNY Old Westbury where he batted .337 and was the 10th toughest to strike out in the nation as a freshman. Upon his transfer to Queens College, Quinn served as a tri-captain and was selected to the all-East Coast Conference team in a senior campaign in which he led QC in hits and fielding percentage. That same season he also tied for the club lead in doubles and runs batted in.

Following his senior year at QC, Quinn proceded to sign a contract to play in the Independent New York State League and was assigned to the NYS Capitols. As a Capitol, Jamie batted .310 as a catcher and an outfielder. In January of 2009 he signed a professional contract for the 2009 season with the Windy City ThunderBolts of the Independent Frontier League.

Quinn then signed on with the Long Island Ducks as a bullpen catcher under the tutelage of such former major leaguers as Hall of Fame catcher and Ducks manager Gary Carter, Dave Lapoint, Bud Harrelson and Kevin Baez. He was recently added to the Ducks active roster.

Jamie's coaching experience includes a stint as Assistant Head Coach for the Plainedge varsity summer teams from 2005-2007, where his teams compiled an overall record of 62-29-7. Currently, Quinn is a Head Coach in the Long Island Whalers organization and has been an instructor for the New York Baseball Academy.
