MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Feb. 24, 2018) - Eric Roubal hit his first home run in a Queens College uniform but the Knights' baseball team had trouble mustering other offensive outbursts in a 10-2 loss to New Haven on Saturday (Feb. 24) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The QC second baseman's round-tripper was one of just five hits for the Knights off of a New Haven pitching staff that collected a seven-strikeout performance from Tim Kennedy in the victory. Ronmel Ocampo went 2-for-2 in his first action in a Queens uniform while Kevin Kolesar and Anthony Scotti had the other hits for the Knights.
New Haven scored eight runs in the first four innings, with a four-run fourth being the major blow against the Knights' pitching staff. Joe Caico went 3-for-4 with three runs scored for the Chargers and PJ Contreras added a home run and three runs batted in.
Queens closes out its South Carolina swing on Sunday (Feb. 25) with a 9 a.m. showdown against Stonehill.
