Baseball's Quinn Signs Independent League Pro Contract

Jamie Quinn, who wrapped up his collegiate career at Queens College two months ago, recentley sign a contract to play in the New York State League. The New York State League is an Independent Professional Rookie League.
After two days of tryouts at the Skylands Park Stadium in Sussex, NJ, Nick Belmonte, Director of Player Development, selected players for this season from a pool of over 400. Quinn was assigned to the NYSL Capitols, where he got off to a good start at the plate, hitting .307 (7 for 23).
Quinn hit .293 for the Knights in 2008. He produced a team leading 44 hits, tied for the team lead with seven doubles and 19 RBI's, and added six stolen bases in 37 games.
