Strong pitching enables Knights to take series from Bridgeport

Strong efforts from the Knights pitching staff enabled them to split a doubleheader with Bridgeport on Saturday after taking game one of the three game set on Friday. Eric Reyes and Kyle Contino pitched QC to a 5-1 win in the nightcap after Willie Marte was outdueled in a 3-0 loss in the opener.
Marte went eight and two thirds in game one, surrendering just six hits and single runs in the sixth, eight and ninth innings. Matt Ortiz went to for three for QC in the 3-0 defeat.
Jared Stoler had two hits and an RBI in three at bats in the Knights' 5-1, game two win. QC broke open a 2-1 game by scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Eric Reyes started and earned the victory with five innings of four hit, one run ball. Kyle Contino threw two scoreless innings to wrap up the win for QC.
