Stoler drives in three in win at Bridgeport

Jared Stoler had three hits and three RBIs in a 6-3 Knights' victory over the University of Bridgeport on Friday in West Haven, Connecticut. Brian Friedman went the distance for QC to pick up his second win of the year.

The Knights got the day off on the right foot by pushing across three runs in the top of the first. A run scoring double by Stoler was followed by RBI ground outs by Noel Gerena, Jr. and Jeffrey Gomez, giving QC a 3-0 advantage. Stoler singled in two more in the very next inning to increase the Knights' lead to five runs, more than enough for starter Brian Friedman, who scattered eight hits while striking out six in recording his fifth complete game of 2009.

David Fisher, Matthew Ortiz, Luiz Rojas, Wei Chang and Gomez also had two hits each for QC, who pounded out 15 for the day.
